Innovation Management

What is Innovation Management?

Innovation Management is the discipline of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific innovation goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time. There are many ways to manage projects and every technique has its own way of getting things done in the most efficient and effective way.

What is ISO 56002?

ISO 56002 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 56002 specifically pertains to innovation management and provides guidelines for implementing and sustaining innovation within an organisation. Innovation management system, is the process of managing new ideas, from ideation to taking action and making them become a reality. ISO 56002 is a document on innovation management that provides guidance on all aspects of innovation management, from how to generate those first sparks of an idea, right through to selling something new in the marketplace.

Generating, capturing, evaluating, and prioritizing innovative ideas are steps involved in the process of innovation management. Our software UVOIS can be used as an ISO 56002 tool to expedite innovation and transformation.

ISO 56002 consists of several clauses and is also based on several principles like Culture, Exploiting Insights and Future-focused Leaders that cover different aspects of innovation management. This standard is intended to be used alongside other ISO standards, such as ISO 900: Quality Management and ISO 14001: Environmental Management, to create a comprehensive management system for organisations.
